For our family Christmas photos this year, I knew I wanted to make some mommy and me outfits. I’m a big fan of plaid and was immediately attracted to this plaid fabric from Joann Fabric. I was also crazy about a few new patterns from Violette Field Threads, and wanted to take advantage of their black Friday sale. For the girls, I chose the Blithe by VFT and for me, I chose the quick and easy M7505 pattern by McCall’s. Read on for more mommy and me photos and my full review of the patterns used.
Let me start off this post by being completely honest. I was SO excited when I received notice that school photos were coming up. Because ever since I’ve started to sew, I look for any occasion to make something pretty. Anything at all. And even though school photos and I have a love/hate relationship, I knew this was one of those occasions.
Couple that with a fact that I have a kindergartner, meaning this is her first time taking school photos, you could say I was over the moon. So I got to thinking about what I wanted to make my little lady for this day and landed back at Violette Field Threads. I found the Nora pattern that had been modified for a more bohemian look that I really loved. Read on for my full review and more photos!
I recently stumbled upon a website of adorable vintage-inspired patterns for girls clothing. I loved so many pieces, but one piece in particular stood out to me. It was the Cairo dress and it looked amazing! I planned to attend a Mommy & Me luncheon with my girls this summer and decided this would be the perfect opportunity to try the pattern. We received countless compliments on the dresses and even a request to purchase one! The best part is, the girls absolutely loved them and my four year old told me she felt like a real princess. Here’s my full review of the pattern and dress.
